first steps in learning
So you've decided to learn - great! What next?
Finding out about the right learning for you can seem a bit difficult but with the right advice you'll find a learning session at a time and place that's right for you.
Some of the things you can do are
- literacy and numeracy-brushing up on reading, writing, spelling and numbers
- arts and crafts
- confidence building
- story telling
- computers and the Internet
- beauty therapy taster sessions
- English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
If you’re living in supported accomodation there might already be some learning sessions going on - ask your support worker.
If you’re living in a hostel there could be learning sessions too. Inglefield Street Women’s hostel has learning sessions every week with the chance to try new things-check out the timetable in the hostel for what’s on this week.
Some day centres have learning sessions with a variety of different subjects. Each project and centre has different learning options, so ask your support worker or contact one of the day centres.
