Community Activist Panel

The Community Activist Panel are a group of people who are currently experiencing poverty. They are members of the Poverty Leadership Panel but are the group of volunteers who have personal experience of poverty. They work together, sharing their experiences, knowledge and skills to influence the work of the PLP.

Members of the Panel also work on themes that they have an interest in, to help bring a real life view to the work. Part of CAP’s role is to work together to form a joint position on what they feel is currently important for people experiencing poverty.

By presenting that to the wider Big Panel they can help make sure people making decisions know how poverty is really affecting people in communities. CAP members may also work with people in their local communities to find out their issues and bring this information back to the PLP.
