GHN cannot accept donations of furniture, food or clothing. There are several organisations in Glasgow who do – please contact them directly in the first instance as requirements may change. If you represent an organisation and would like to be included on this list please contact info@ghn.org.uk

Destiny Angels

Destiny Angels provide a food and clothing bank. Contact them at 37 South Portland Street, Gorbals, Glasgow, G5 9JL or call 0141 429 8757 to arrange a drop-off.


  • Good quality furniture (donations of sofas and chairs if they have a fire label)
  • Electrical items
  • Clothing and fabric
  • Books, records, CDs, bric-a-brac, china, glasswear
  • Bicycles.

As well as selling items in their shop, Emmaus provide work opportunities and housing for people affected by homelessness. Contact them directly to find out about free home pick-ups or dropping off. There is an online shop locator here or call 0141 353 3903.

Glasgow Asylum Destitution Action Network (GLADAN)

Glasgow Asylum Destitution Action Network brings together charities, church and community groups and individuals who are actively concerned for people who have been made destitute and  homeless following the refusal of their application for asylum, and other vulnerable migrants with no recourse to public funds.


Help4thehomeless provide hot meals and snacks, clothes, bedding and basic toiletries, free of charge for people who are homeless in Glasgow. If you have items you wish to donate, you can drop them off at Cadogan Street, G2 7AB from 8pm every Thursday. Alternatively, contact them to discuss other ways to donate – Mel – 07966062495 or Mikaela – 07988712707. They also have an Amazon Wishlist where you can buy items for distribution.

Lodging House Mission

Donations of clothes (socks and underwear must be new) and food. LHM is based at 35 East Campbell Street G1 5DT or call 0141 552 0285.

Shelter Scotland

  • Good quality Furniture
  • Electrical items

They will sell items in their shops and use the money to provide advice and information about housing and homelessness. There are several shops in Glasgow. Contact them directly to find out about free home pick-ups or dropping off. There is an online shop locator here or call 0141 530 6318.

There are several foodbanks operating in Glasgow. You can find a list here. Please contact them beforehand to ask about donations – sometimes they urgently require specific items. Think about:

  • Non perishable food (cereal, pasta, rice, tea)
  • Toilet rolls
  • Sanitary towels and tampons
  • Tin openers
  • Nappies
  • Toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, deodorant)
  • Baby food

Usually foodbanks will not accept cooked leftover food from buffets or restaurants.
